Thank you for your interest in Silicon Valley Massage Therapy Advocates. We have developed this site, as an on-going device, to inform and serve massage practitioners and their clients regarding government policy and local topics of interest.
Origins
SVMTA was started in November of 2007 in response to a new ordinance passed in Los Gatos, CA. While there is much good in the new law there are many things that need work. SVMTA acts as an industry representative, a collective voice, for the massage therapists in Los Gatos and beyond. Read more about our perspective and position regarding massage therapy regulation
Free Massage Training
A $400,000.00 grant has been awarded to West Valley Community College to provide training and academic support for massage therapists in Los Gatos, and surrounding areas, who have been displaced by the new ordinance.
